SWOT Analysis

At the end of the DOOR Marketing short course the following SWOT Analysis is completed.  Participants are invited to include short notes in any categories chosen.  This enables them to recall how they came to the conclusion that they had a strength or weakness in any of the nine criteria considered internal or an opportunity or threat in any of the seven criteria considered external.

It is considered that competition, current market price and industry trends are solely external factors and start-up costs, expected returns, experience, resources and the commercialisation procedure to be followed are principally internal factors and could be influenced by the actions of the participants.

Any participants who identify a threat in terms of customer demand, current market price or industry trend or a weakness in terms of expected returns are asked how they came to this conclusion.  If these observations are true, the proposal is considered to be fatally flawed and alternatives should be proposed.
