12. Future Profit workshops

Future Profit is a series of linked modules from which a group of primary producers selects a program to deal with the particular challenges which face their businesses. Modules may be concerned with soil quality and erosion, family succession, financial management or short- and longer-term market trends for the products produced on the properties. People with particular expertise in the topics being discussed are available to stimulate discussions and offer suggestions.

The modules help primary producers answer questions such as:

Where are we going as a family and as a business?
What state are my natural resources in now?
How efficient is the present layout of my property?
How do we ensure the family team and staff continue to work well together?
What are the realities of my business situation right now?
How are my crops or livestock performing?
How do I recognise my best options?
How will I decide on a plan for change?

In Future Profit groups, people find answers using everybody's experience and knowledge. Future Profit has evolved from the Property Management Planning program and builds on participants' current knowledge and experience by encouraging them to swap ideas with other producers as well as getting the latest available input from government and industry bodies.
