The next Information Day using the Side-show Alley model will be held at the Emerald Agricultural College, on Wednesday 18 August 1999.
This function is being organised by the Central Highlands and Dawson Callide Zones of the Queensland Grain Growers Association.
It will follow the lines of a similar Information Day held at Roma in 1998, which arose from the Emerging Opportunities Information Day (New Crop Options) held at Pittsworth in 1996.
The organising committee for the event comprises local primary producers who have identified a need for growers to be able to hear directly from specialists who can supply locally relevant information to growers.
Information to be presented will include:
The committee has planned for 80% of the program to be 'blue sky' research.

Modules which are planned to be presented will include:
1. Managing grain quality
Why is grain quality an issue?
How does plant breeding influence grain quality?

What can growers do to influence grain quality?
2. Precision farming and processes
