The Alternative Crops Technology Interaction Network is an industry-led initiative to promote the use of renewable raw materials derived from agricultural crops (industrial oils, fibres, starches and speciality chemicals), as sustainable, biodegradable, non toxic and CO2 neutral replacements - for petrochemical feedstocks.
These materials may be produced by the chemical, physical or genetic modification of established crops such as wheat, oilseed rape, flax or hemp, or through the introduction of novel crops such as crambe, calendula or camelina.
