This product provides keys for the identification of rain forest trees using features of leaves, fruits, flowers, bark, seedlings or geographical distribution in any order or combination. It is thus possible to identify rain forest trees without the need for flower specimens. Descriptions and keys are included for 1056 tree species. The publishers consider this product will be useful for researchers, paleobotanists, foresters, educators, students, conservationists and naturalists who have an interest in rain forest flora.

Australian Tropical Plants: CDROM Volume 1

Cornucopia: A Source Book of Edible Plants: Electronic version

A Database of Herbs

This is a computer database with information on 322 herbs with 780 common names to assist in identification. Information is accessed through eight menu-operated programs, with twenty-six menu screens providing access to 1198 separate listings of information. More than 1370 pages of information can be provided via a printer.

Although optimal growing conditions are listed, many herbs can grow in a wide range of environmental conditions. Characteristics of herbs may also change, depending on these conditions. Propagation methods listed in this database are those considered the most successful. Medicinal herbs are listed for information only.

Plant Guide: A computerised horticultural tool.

Plant Guide is a database containing over 1900 plant species classified for over 50 characteristics. The species are those likely to be used by landscape designers (from ground covers to trees).

Searching is possible through the characteristics such as:

Searching in reverse is also possible, whereby the plants growing well at a site can be used to specify the likely site characteristics. These can then be used to screen for other species, with specified characteristics which would be suited to such sites.
