International Food Legume Research Conference III

This conference will build on the outcomes of the previous two conferences, held in Spokane, USA in 1986 and Cairo, Egypt in 1992.

The program includes concurrent sessions on scientific aspects and marketing opportunities.

Field trips to expose visitors to local farming systems and research facilities will be conducted on 24 September.

The conference will draw together aspects of research and development, production, processing and marketing of these increasingly important legume crops.

International Symposium on Biotechnology of Tropical and Subtropical Species

Tropical and subtropical species are major contributors to food, fibre, pharmaceuticals and industrial raw materials throughout the world. Recent techniques in biotechnology have been applied to some of these species and many opportunities exist in thi s field.

This symposium will review current progress and explore potential applications. All aspects of cell and tissue culture and recent developments in molecular biology will be covered via papers, posters, tours and a workshop, and conclude with an optional practical workshop on either transformation systems or molecular markers.
